What the web app can't do
The web app makes the same files as the app and the CLI, byte for byte. What it can’t do comes from the browser:
| App and CLI | Web app | |
|---|---|---|
| Text | The text command, Set Text, and SVG text set in your fonts |
Not available: browsers don’t let pages use your installed fonts. SVG <text> is left out of the result, and the report says so. Convert text to outlines in your design tool, or use the app or CLI |
| Saving | Next to the input, or a chosen folder | Downloads, or a chosen folder in Chromium browsers on a computer |
| Folders as input | Any folder, remembered | Open Folder in desktop browsers; files only on phones; nothing remembered |
| Automation | Shortcuts, Finder Quick Action, the share sheet, scripts | Open files with the installed app (Chromium); the report’s CLI command |
| Speed | Native | Roughly 1.5 to 3 times slower |
| Large files | Limited by memory | Phones, iOS Safari most, limit memory: files over 150 MB get a warning |
