Install and use offline
The web app is a progressive web app (PWA): you can install it, and once it has loaded it works with no connection.
Install
Section titled “Install”- Chrome and Edge (computer): the install button in the address bar, or the browser menu › Install ShapeMason.
- Safari on a Mac: File › Add to Dock.
- Safari on iPhone and iPad: Share › Add to Home Screen.
- Chrome on Android: the menu › Install app (or Add to Home screen).
The installed app opens in its own window. In Chromium browsers it can also be chosen to open SVG, DXF and mesh files.
Offline
Section titled “Offline”After your first visit everything the app needs is stored by the browser, including the converter, so opening files, previewing and converting work with no connection. The privacy policy and terms of use work offline too. When a new version is out, it is picked up the next time you open the app online.
Your data
Section titled “Your data”Files are read by the browser and converted on your device; nothing is uploaded. Profiles and settings are kept in the browser’s storage, so clearing site data removes them (export profiles first). The app sends anonymous usage data unless you turn it off in Settings › General or your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track; see the privacy policy.
